Dr. Millie Darvell, Clinical Psychologist

photo2Millie has completed a Bachelor of Behavioural Science (Psychology) and a Bachelor of Behavioural Science (Honours Psychology) with First Class Honours, and has completed a Doctor of Psychology (Clinical). She is a clinical psychologist, a registered Medicare provider and a member of the Australian Psychological Society.

Millie has experience in the delivery of individual and group therapy across public healthcare services, community organisations and private psychiatric hospitals in Queensland and Western Australia. She uses a range of therapeutic approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion Focused Therapy and Solution Focused Therapy.

Millie’s special interests include obsessive compulsive and related disorders, anxiety (including specific phobias, social anxiety and generalised anxiety), emotion regulation difficulties, addictive disorders (including substance, gambling and technology addiction), PTSD and other trauma-related problems, personality disorders and depression. She works with youth, adult and older adult populations with various emotional and behavioural difficulties. Millie is committed to working at a pace that suits each individual using techniques and strategies tailored to meet clients’ unique strengths, difficulties and desires.
