Pratyusha (Sonie) Jawalkar, Registered Psychologist


Sonie is a Registered Psychologist and an Associate member of the Australian Psychological Society. She has completed Bachelor of Health Sciences (Public Health), Bachelor of Arts (Psychology), Post Graduate Diploma of Science (Health Psychology) and Master of Science (Health Psychology) from the University of Auckland, New Zealand.

Her background has been in psychology and public health research and she has worked at University of Auckland, University of Otago and Massey University in New Zealand.   Sonie enjoys working with people of all ages and cultural backgrounds. She has experience working with clients in both individual and group settings. She is gaining experience working with depression, anxiety disorders, PTSD, grief and loss, domestic violence issues, low self esteem, chronic illness, health anxiety, pain management, stress, workplace issues and assertiveness. Her rapport, friendly nature, empathetic and non-judgmental attitude have been highly appreciated by her clients. She is focused on helping her clients understand their own emotions and behaviours while using a mix of cognitive behavioural, ACT, problem focused, DBT, relaxation, schema therapy and mindfulness based approaches.

Sonie is multilingual and speaks in English, Hindi and a couple of other Indian languages.
