Elizabeth McAllister, Registered Psychologist
Elizabeth is a Psychologist who holds a Bachelor of Social Science (Psychology) with Honours and a Graduate Diploma of Social Science (Psychology) from the University of New England. She also has a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Queensland. She is a current Associate Member of the Australian Psychological Society.
Elizabeth has experience providing mental health services in a range of community and private sector settings in Queensland. She works with adults to provide psychological assessment and therapy for depression, anxiety, stress, relationship and interpersonal difficulties, post-traumatic stress, self-esteem issues, obsessive-compulsive disorder, adjustment difficulties, anger management, emotion regulation, chronic pain, and grief and loss issues.
Elizabeth creates a caring, warm and supportive space for therapy. Depending on the needs and goals of her clients, she uses a range of therapeutic approaches including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Schema Therapy, Mindfulness, Motivational Interviewing and Solution-Focused Therapy.
