She is currently in the process of commencing her Clinical Registrar Program to gain endorsement within the area of Clinical Psychology.
Kyla has experience working with individuals across the lifespan including children, adolescents and adults. Within her previous roles, she worked collaboratively with her clients to treat a broad range of difficulties including anxiety (including specific phobias, health anxiety, social anxiety, generalised anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder), depression, low self-esteem, assertiveness difficulties, relationship difficulties, stress and disordered eating. She particularly enjoys supporting women experiencing anxiety or depression during their antenatal and postnatal periods as well as working with families who have children exhibiting behavioural difficulties or anxiety and providing parenting support - particularly to families who may be involved in the child protection system to help families remain together by supporting them to address safety concerns.
To ensure an individualised and tailored approach to treatment, Kyla uses and draws from a variety of therapeutic modalities including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and Schema Therapy depending on her client’s presenting difficulties, needs and wishes.
Kyla is a warm therapist who is passionate about helping clients achieve the change they would like to see in their lives and equip them with the skills and self-awareness to allow for continued progress following therapy. Kyla also aims to equip her clients with a new skill, technique or piece of insight in to their thinking or behaviour at every session to ensure continued progress towards client therapeutic goals. Kyla looks forward to helping you and walking alongside you during a part of your journey to increased psychological awareness and well-being.
